They set out for 'solution and freedom' 2024-12-17 11:23:27   AMED - Participating in the "Democratic Solution and Freedom March", politician Ayten Kordu stated that they want a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue. DAD Co-Chair Zeynel Kete emphasised that monist policies must end.   Democratic Institutions Platform started the "Democratic Solution and Freedom March" from Amed (Diyarbakır) to Ankara yesterday. The march, which includes many names from different circles, will end in Ankara on the 20th.   'WE WILL DEMAND THE SOLUTION OF THE ISSUE'   Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Dêrsim (Tunceli) MP Ayten Kordu, one of the participants of the march, stated that they set out with demands for a democratic country and a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue. Pointing out that the government has not taken any steps towards the solution of the Kurdish issue, Ayten Kordu said: "With this march we will make our call in Ankara and demand a peaceful and democratic solution to the issue and the physical freedom of Mr Abdullah Öcalan."   Stating that different circles have been making statements in the fields for a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue for a long time, Ayten Kordu said: "We call on the Kurdish people, their friends, intellectuals, writers, everyone who wants an equal and free life on this issue, to give strength to our march for the democratic solution of this problem."   'OUR MARCH IS THE MARCH FOR TRUTH'   Democratic Alevi Associations (DAD) Co-Chair Zeynel Kete described their protest as a "march for truth". They want to live as free citizens in a common homeland said Kete and added: "The 100-year-old republic is a serious obstacle to the coexistence of differences. Both the Middle East and our country cannot bear this monism. This society needs to live freely without being under any pressure. This march is an occasion for this. Peace is perhaps the word with the widest content after the word 'mother' in the dictionary. I hope this struggle finds a response in this geography. May mothers never cry again. Let no language, culture, belief, sect, identity or gender become the destructive weapon of another culture, belief."   MA / Müjdat Can
