Justice demand on 157th month of Roboski 2025-01-28 16:03:29   ANKARA - Justice Initiative for Roboski commemorated those who lost their lives in the Roboskî Massacre on the 157th month of the massacre.   It has been 157 months since the massacre of 34 people, including 19 children, in Roboski village of Qileban (Uludere) district of Şirnex (Şırnak) province on 28 December 2011. Justice Initiative for Roboski, which organises a commemoration programme for those who lost their lives in the massacre on the 28th of every month, made a statement in Sakarya Street on the 157th month of the massacre.    Making a statement on the issue, Sevil Turgut, a member of Human Rights Association (IHD) Ankara Branch, stated that they have been continuing to seek justice for 157 months. Sevil Turgut said that the massacre was not the result of an inevitable mistake, on the contrary, it was a deliberate massacre and added, "Roboski is a crime against humanity."   13 years after the massacre, justice has still not been served said Sevil Turgut and added, "It is a great shame for law and humanity. Without making violence and rights violations a state norm, we can build a path out of the 100-year climate of war and hatred by establishing a mind of peace and democracy. In a plan where there is justice and there is no impunity, we can only talk about human rights."
