Storming the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) İzmir Provincial Organization building, the assailant Onur Gencer killed Deniz Poyraz whom he took hostage and tried to set the building on fire. Onur Gencer was later taken into custody. HDP MPs whom we got in touch with to get comments, told the attack was organized by the Ministry of Interior.

 

HDP İzmir MP Murat Çepni said: "It was an organized attack just like the attack on HDP Ankara Headquarters. The government is provocating people to find an out of the deadlock they are in. Therefore, we call on our people to unite around our party, HDP.

 

'THE GOVERMENT MUST HAVE KNOW ABOUT THE ATTACK'

 

Stating that attacks against HDP is getting more and more widespread, HDP İstanbul MP Hüda Kaya said: "We have been trying to take measures against possible attacks in the recent months. Because the government have become a hitman itself. Their crimes are exposed day after day. They had to change to agenda because they have nothing to say about these exposés. This attack was not a surprise for us. They will probably say that this attack was carried out by a drunk. But they must have know about this attack since we know they are extremely happy about any attack carried out against us and they do not see the need to hide it. This government is is the enforcer. They are the bosses of the enforcers. We will be following every development about the murder of Deniz."
