İZMİR - The first hearing of the case against Onur Gencer, who murdered Deniz Poyraz by carrying out an armed attack on the HDP provincial building, has begun.
The first hearing of the case against Onur Gencer, who murdered Deniz Poyraz by carrying out an armed attack on the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) İzmir Provincial Building on June 17, started at the İzmir 6th High Criminal Court. The murderer Onur Gencer was brought to the courtroom.
Deniz Poyraz's family and lawyers were present at the hearing. While more than 500 lawyers came to participate in the case, which took place in the conference room in the Bayraklı Courthouse, some of the lawyers and the audience were not allowed into the courtroom. HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan, HDP MPs, Republican People's Party (CHP) Vice President Gülizar Biçer Karaca, CHP MPs, Turkish Workers' Party (TIP) MPs, Danish Parliament MPs Lars Aslan Rasmussen, Soren Sondergaard, heads of bar associations of 29 provinces and representatives of political parties are at monitoring the hearing.
