Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Hesekê made a statement regarding the Hesekê victory. Commemorating those who lost their lives in the "Mace of the Peoples Move", the Autonomous Administration stated that the victory in Hesekê was the second historical milestone for the people of the region in raising the resistance against ISIS.

 

Underlining that the aim of the attack was to occupy new territory and destroy the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, the statement said, “They carried out their attack on January 20, the day the Autonomous Administration was established. This confirms that this is an attack against the will of the people of the region. But the attack was defeated thanks to the sons and daughters of these lands.

 

Stating that they celebrated two successes at once, the Autonomous Administration continued its statements as follows: "Today is the anniversary of the liberation of Kobanê and the victory of our people in Hesekê. We congratulate our people once again for these great achievements. This victory is the second milestone for our people who stepped up the resistance against ISIS. It is a historical turning point. The brutality of ISIS suffered a major defeat in Kobanê in 2015. Today, the strategy carried out by the Turkish state which uses ISIS as a pawn, has been defeated again in Hesekê. On this occasion, we greet all peoples once again, and the SDF, YPJ, HPC and the Internal Security Forces who fought with courage and determination. We call on our people to be vigilant in defending their lands and to support the security forces against any attack on their gains."
