The Union of Municipalities of Turkey (TBB) took the presidency from AKP municipalities with the election held on June 5, 2024. The new president of TBB is İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayos Ekrem İmamoğlu. After the election, the practices carried out in TBB during the AKP period were revealed. It was revealed that TBB allocated 138 of 175 vehicles to AKP municipalities and 16 to MHP municipalities.
79 PERCENT TO AKP
According to BirGün's report, TBB's data for 2023, under the administration of the AKP Fatma Şahin and Yücel Yılmaz period, revealed that the union gave priority to AKP and MHP municipalities in resource distribution. It was revealed that 79 percent of the 175 vehicle allocations made by the Union in 2023 were made to AKP municipalities. TBB allocated 175 vehicles to municipalities in 2023. 42 of the allocations were diggers, 41 were dump trucks, and 22 were service vehicles.
10 vehicles were allocated to CHP municipalities, 8 to municipalities where trustees were appointed, 2 to İyi Parti and 1 to Saadet Party.
1.6 BILLION TL IN THE 2019-2023 PERIOD
The financial data of the union also attracted attention. According to the data, it was also noteworthy that the union spent a total of 1 billion 667 million 720 thousand 536 Liras in the 2019-2023 period.
