ISTANBUL - Prisoners' relatives came together in front of Bakirkoy Prison in a "Speak up for freedom" action to protest Imrali isolation.

The action initiated by the Marmara Association for Assistance and Solidarity with Families of Prisoners and Convicts (MATUHAY-DER) and prisoners' relatives to lift the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and ensure his physical freedom and to solve the Kurdish issue continues. Prisoners' relatives came together in front of Bakirkoy Women's Closed Prison in Istanbul in a "Speak up for freedom" action. Representatives of political parties and civil society organizations as well as many people participated in the action. The banner "Speak up for freedom to break isolation and bring social peace" was carried in the action.

MATUHAY-DER Co-chair Dilek Sönmez Demir said: "As every week, we are holding a 10-minute sit-in protest against the isolation in prisons. Today, we will hold a sit-in protest against isolation and we will continue to do so until the rights violations end."
