AMED - Amed Metropolitan Municipality took 260 children to a dengbêj recital as part of Tourism Week.

The Social Services Department of Amed (Diyarbakır) Metropolitan Municipality brought 260 students together with the stories of dengbêjs within the scope of the Tourism Week events from April 15-22.

In the event aimed at introducing children to culture and art, students studying at Zarokistan Nursery under the Children’s Branch Directorate were taken to the Dengbêj House in the Sûr district, accompanied by the instructors.

During the event, students listened live to the dengbêjs, the representatives of a verbal Kurdish cultural tradition with a history of thousands of years.

Through the kilams performed by the dengbêjs, an important part of Kurdish culture was introduced to the children. In the program held at the Dengbêj House, known for its historical texture, students both had fun and gained information about cultural values.
