Israel strikes government infrastructure in Syria 2026-03-20 13:10:13   NEWS CENTER - The Israeli military announced that it had carried out air strikes on infrastructure targets belonging to the Syrian Transitional Government “in retaliation for attacks on Druze civilians”.   In its statement, the Israeli military stated that it had targeted “a command centre and weapons within military complexes in southern Syria”. On Thursday 19 March, the Suwayda National Guard Command issued a statement reporting that seven people had been killed, four injured and 19 abducted as a result of the attacks in the Suwayda region.   The Israeli military emphasised that it would not tolerate “any attacks against the Druze population” and would continue its operations “to defend them and monitor developments in the region”.
