PJAK Member Moeini: The foundation of Iran must be built with a democratic mentality

NEWS CENTER – Emphasizing that the peoples of Iran need a pluralist unity PJAK Leadership Council Member Siamand Moeini said: "The unity of peoples and the new foundation of a future Iran must be built with a democratic mentality."

The Iranian opposition will hold a conference titled "We wave a Democratic Iran" at the European Parliament in Brussels on 11 June (tomorrow) with broad participation, addressing the future of Iran. Different political views, peoples and beliefs will be represented at the conference. Siamand Moeini, a member of the PJAK (Kurdistan Free Life Party) Leadership Council and a speaker at the conference, shared his assessments with our agency. Noting that the regime's policies are creating problems both inside and outside the country, Moeini stated that a common line of struggle must be established for a solution.

Drawing attention to the fact that the regime's policies are creating problems domestically, regionally and globally, Moeini recalled that the Iranian state has developed hostile policies toward both its own people and neighboring countries, and that the peoples of Iran — Kurds in particular — have staged protests in response.

Stating that through the policies PJAK has developed against the regime's stance, the organization has spread across many fields, Moeini said: "After the Jin, Jiyan, Azadî (Woman, life, freedom) movement, countries around the world focused on the Kurdish question and PJAK became the center of this diplomatic relationship. That is why you now see PJAK's diplomacy is more active."

Saying that the peoples need such a conference and the roadmap that will emerge from it, Moeini stated that the purpose of the conference is to organize the people and explain what the alternative of a future democratic Iran looks like. Emphasizing that as PJAK they take the common struggle of peoples as their basis, Moeini said that the different nations in Iran must work together and that the regime must be prevented from using this to its advantage.

"A common project must be prepared to organize and mobilize the opposition of the democratic front. If this preparation is not made, Iranian centralist chauvinism will once again benefit from this and such a dictatorial system will continue," he said.

Pointing to the multiple crises in Iran, Moeini noted that this situation is causing enormous harm to the peoples materially, morally and politically. Moeini said: "The people of Iran and Iran's democratic forces must understand that they can defeat this regime and bring it down from power. The democratic ground must be prepared for the governance of a future Iran, and the future plans and projects of Iran must be planned with a democratic mentality," indicating that such conferences are also important for this purpose.

Noting that PJAK has long been working to develop relations with other nations of Iran, Moeini said: "Our aim is to create a space for discussion about the future of a democratic Iran and to emphasize the role of nations and communities in shaping Iran's future."

Referring to the Coalition of Iranian Kurdistan Political Forces established in Rojhilat, Moeini said that while the coalition is important, it is weak. "I believe there is a historic opportunity for the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people, so this kind of cooperation must be taken seriously and expanded. They know that the current situation is very sensitive and that diplomacy can affect the future of Kurdistan," he said, adding that the partnership must be broadened.

Emphasizing that the peoples of Iran are going through a historic phase, Moeini said: "I believe that the period we are in is a historic phase and a transitional period, therefore we must analyze this period seriously, identify the dangers, and at the same time evaluate the opportunities and use these opportunities to serve freedom and democracy in our country. We must step outside the framework of party and ideological dogmas, take the interests of our country as our basis and take great steps in this direction; these steps will secure our victory."
