10 people detained including Silivri Mayor

NEWS CENTRE – 10 people, including CHP Silivri Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu, were arrested on "corruption" charges.
 
Within the scope of an investigation launched on "corruption" allegations against CHP-run Istanbul Silivri Municipality, arrest warrants were issued for 10 individuals, including Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu.
 
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, raids were carried out on 12 June at the municipality and the homes and workplaces of 18 people for whom detention orders had been issued. Following four days of testimony procedures, those detained were referred to Silivri Courthouse.
 
The prosecution referred 11 people, including Balcıoğlu, to the Magistrate's Court with a request for arrest, and 7 people with a request for judicial control. The Magistrate's Court issued arrest warrants for Balcıoğlu, Aşkın Kaynar, Serdar Tuna, Gökhan Tuna, Adem Tuna, İbrahim Kömür, Aykut Batur, Fatih Yavuz, Yavuz Dirik and Nihat Nahit Sarayönü.
 
8 people were released under judicial control.
