ANKARA - Stating that the main source of the collapse in the state, disintegration and decay in the society is the policies of no solution in the Kurdish question, Mithat Sancar said, "We insist that the struggle against the political deadlock in the Kurdish question should be expanded with the struggle against isolation."

 

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Party Assembly (PM) meeting started in a hotel in Çankaya. HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar made an opening speech before the meeting where political developments and the new era democratic struggle program will be discussed.

 

Stating that there is no lack in critical turning points in the history of Turkey, Sancar said: "We have always gone through different ordeals but it feels like we are close to the final now. We will either change this thugocracy or it will have the chance to repair itself with the same mentality that will last for decades."

 

KURDISH QUESTION

 

Pointing out that the state intends to eliminate the Kurdish question by waging a comprehensive war against the Kurds, Sancar said, “They burned down thousands of villages, forcibly displaced millions of Kurds from their homes, and made them migrate. Thousands of our people were murdered by 'unknown assailatns', we knew who the the perpetrator were but they remained to be unsolved cases. Thousands of people were killed extrajudicially, tens of thousands of people were put in dungeons. To carry out all this, the law had to be set aside entirely. The understanding of leaving the law aside is a direct and perhaps a necessary consequence of the war policies in the Kurdish question. If you take a total war as a basis, you will leave the law aside because you know that you cannot carry out this within the law."

 

THE REASON OF THE CRISIS IS THE KURDISH QUESTION

 

Now they are staging a so called trial called the Kobané Case. They are prosecuting our friends. Their aim is to avenge their defeat in Kobané. They couldn't get over that defeat so they put this case into effect 6 years after the Kobané resistance. And before that, they tried everything to push the Kurds outside of the democratic struggle. They revitalized the mafia relations just like they did back in the 90's and destroyed what's left of democracy. The reason of this crisis is the Kurdish question and the insistance on not solving it. 

 

STRUGGLE AGAINST ISOLATION

 

In my opinion, the peace process ended on April 5, 2015. That was the last day HDP delegation visited Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı Prison.  War policies and isolation, bitter realities that feed each other, destructive realities, war policies deepened with isolation. Solution policies were growing and developing while there were negotiations in İmralı. We insist that the struggle against a deadlock should be expanded with the struggle against isolation. Sometimes I think that we cannot adequately explain the HDP's objections to the isolation.  Or we see that there are circles that do not want to understand, even though we have told them. The struggle against isolation is the struggle against the policies of war and the deadlock, it is the desire for peace, they cannot be separated from each other."
