The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) has released a video showing that Turkey and its affiliated paramilitary groups are chopping down trees in Afrin, which is under their control. In the images, it is seen that trees have been cut down around the lake in the village of Meydankê in the Shera district of Afrin. The felled trees are loaded onto a truck.
According to the Syria-Afrin Human Rights Organization, Turkey has cut down 44,000 trees, 32,000 of which are olive trees, since taking the region under its control.
