URFA - The 10th prosecutor was appointed to the Şenyaşar case which is carried out confidentially for the last 4 years.

 

The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 548. The sit-in was launched on  March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. Emine Şenyaşar and her son came in front of the courthouse early in the morning and started the sit-in. While Emine Şenyaşar continued the sit-in at their house in Suruç district due to health problems, Ferit Şenyaşar came to the entrance of the Urfa Courthouse in the morning and started the sit-in. The case regarding the attacks in the workplace of the Şenyaşar family was concluded on April 2, 2021, and Fadıl Şenyaşar, who lost his two brothers and father in the incident, was sentenced to 37 years and 9 months in prison. The sentence given to Fadıl Şenyaşar, who has been held in a cell in Elazığ Prison for more than 4 years alone, is at the court of appeals.

 

THE PROSECUTOR OF THE INVESTIGATION CHANGED AGAIN

 

While the local court of the case regarding the workplace is completed, the investigation file reserved for Suruç State Hospital, where the actual massacre took place, continues with a "confidentiality decision" for more than 4 years. Esvet Şenyaşar and his sons Adil and Celal Şenyaşar were murdered in the hospital while the state officials were there witnessing the incident. It was claimed that the hospital's security cameras were stolen after the massacre. On April 22, 2022, 4 years after the incident, 4 people, including AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's older brother Celal Yıldız, were arrested regarding what happened in the hospital with the family's struggle for justice. Ferit Şenyaşar and their lawyer Bülent Duran, who wanted to get information about the developments in the file yesterday, were informed that the prosecutor of the file had changed for the 10th time. Thus, it was the 10th prosecutor's change in the investigation file, which has not been turned into a case for more than 4 years.

Tagging Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ on their Twitter account, the Şenyaşar family said: “Urfa Courthouse continues to go down in history. A crime against humanity has been committed in front of the cameras in an institution of the state. The 9th prosecutor who handled the case is gone. The 10th prosecutor has arrived. The confidentiality decision on the case continues.”
