ANKARA - Drawing attention to the importance of the fight against the isolation in Imrali, HDP MP for Muş, Şevin Coşkun said: "The peoples of Turkey need messages from Öcalan."
The demonstration, initiated by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs to allow PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to meet with his lawyers, continues on its 26th day. MPs, Şevin Coşkun, Celadet Gaydalı, Muazzez Orhan, Kemal Peköz, İmam Taşçıer and Hasan Özgüneş made a statement in front of the Parliament with posters that read "Isolation is a crime against humanity" and "A meeting should be held in İmralı".
'THE PEOPLE OF TURKEY NEEDS THE MESSAGE OF ÖCALAN'
Reminding that Öcalan did not attend the meeting during the CPT delegation's visit to İmralı, Coşkun said: “This is an indication that there is a serious problem there. Today, there are serious concerns and concerns about Mr. Öcalan's health and life in society. It is the duty of the Ministry of Justice to address these concerns. Barriers to lawyers must be removed. Negotiations should be made as soon as possible because the peoples of Turkey need the messages Öcalan will share. We call on all social opposition here against the policies of the government. We should fight against this isolation together. The struggle against isolation is a test for Turkey's peace and democracy building. The rule of law will benefit everyone when the lawlessness there ends. Isolation is a crime against humanity.”
