VAN - In the lawsuit filed against Osman Şiban, who was thrown from a helicopter in Şax district of Van, on the allegation of "being a member of a terrorist organization", a prison sentence of up to 15 years was demanded.

 

The second hearing of the lawsuit filed against Osman Şiban, who was thrown from a helicopter in Şax district of Van, on the allegation of "being a member of a terrorist organization" was held. While Şiban and his lawyers were present at the hearing held at the Mersin 2nd High Criminal Court, the two witnesses of the hearing were connected via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS).

 

Stating that he did not recognize those who testified as "witness" at the trial, Şiban said that he also did not agree with the statements of the witnesses. Şiban said: “When people returned to the village were free, I went and built a house. I lived there during certain months of the year. No organization member came to my house. I'm staying in the plateau and I haven't seen any activity there either. I stay at my house for two months a year, mow the grass and take care of it. My house is empty for 10 months of the year. I didn't bury anything like a tube or diesel anywhere. I want my acquittal.” 

 

One of the witnesses, N.A., said that he knew Şiban but had no relationship, while the other witness, Y.S. On the other hand, he claimed that the information he gave to the police was correct and that Şiban was a "member of an organization".

 

THE PROSECUTOR DEMANDED PRISON SENTENCE

 

Then, the prosecutor's office, which presented its opinion to the court, demanded that Şiban be punished for "being a member in a terrorist organization".

 

Şiban's lawyers, on the other hand, requested time to defend his client.

 

The court accepted the lawyers' request for time and postponed the hearing to April 11.
