According to the report; The two cities with the highest number of femicides are Tehran and Urmia.
The report emphasized that 20 of the 52 murders were committed in the name of honour. The report emphasized that 11 of the 52 people murdered were children under the age of 18 and that a 10-year-old child was killed for the same reasons. The report included information that the perpetrators of 28 women were murdered by their married men, 4 women were murdered by their fiancées, 3 by their divorced men, 8 by their fathers and 6 by their brothers.
Faraz Firouzi Mandomi, human rights lawyer and chief legal officer of Hengaw, said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran violated women's human rights by interfering with their private space and basic freedoms such as veiling. On the other hand, it has neglected its positive duty to protect women and children from domestic violence, which is often legitimized by the concepts of 'honour' and 'honor', and as a result, women have been subjected to the authority of their fathers and husbands."
