AMED - Noting that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan foiled the conspiracy, "Mr Abdullah Öcalan's freedom must be ensured immediately and a ground for democratic negotiations must be established" said DBP Central Executive Committee.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Central Executive Committee made a written statement on the international conspiracy against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Pointing out that 26 years have passed since the international conspiracy against Abdullah Öcalan, the statement reads, "The effects of the conspiracy against Mr. Öcalan, who has been held in İmralı High Security Prison since 15 February 1999 under conditions that violate international law and international conventions, are still continuing today despite the time that has passed."

Emphasising that war and insolvency were imposed on the peoples, the statement reads: "With the conspiracy implemented 26 years ago, it aimed to liquidate the struggle for democracy, equality and freedom of the peoples, especially the Kurdish people, in the person of Mr Öcalan. Capitalist Modernity, which implemented the conspiracy, on the one hand carried the 3rd World War to a new dimension, and on the other hand targeted the search for a democratic society that would bring a permanent solution to the Middle East. However, the conspiratorial forces could not achieve their goals at any stage of the process. Because Mr Öcalan, who continued his search in the Middle East and Europe in order to develop efforts to solve the Kurdish issue, exhibited the stance of the century by transforming the Imrali Island Prison into an area of resistance despite the severe isolation conditions. This determination and stance also proved that the International Conspiracy did not achieve its goal.

Today, all the major political and social crises in Kurdistan and the Middle East centred on Turkey are based on the policies of non-solution of the Kurdish issue. On the other hand, as revealed in the Rojava Model, which offers a free and democratic future to the peoples, Mr Öcalan's idea of a solution has become the compass to get out of the crises. We want to emphasise that any political understanding that ignores this reality has no future.

'HISTORICAL  DUTY'

Mr Öcalan showed the peoples how to build a new and free life with a democratic, ecological and women's liberationist paradigm. Heeding Mr Öcalan's call, the peoples of Rojava, with their epic resistance, brought Mr Öcalan's ideas to life and presented the Rojava Women's Revolution to the world as a common freedom model of the peoples. Today, the Rojava Model, which is an oasis in the desert, sheds light on all experiences of struggle against the male-dominated system led by women. Women, especially with the strength they gained from the Rojava Women's Revolution, have carried the philosophy of ‘Jin, jiyan, azadî (Woman, life, freedom)’ from Rojhilat (Iran) to India and all over the world and turned it into a universal line of struggle.

Mr. Öcalan is the will of a solution who wants to solve the Kurdish issue through mutual dialogue and negotiation; who considers this problem as a problem of Turkey's democratisation; and who strives to remove the obstacles to the equal, free and peaceful life of peoples, women and beliefs.

Expectation of the people from the İmralı talks, which the whole society is watching carefully and supporting for a positive outcome, is that the peace, negotiation and solution process will proceed with practical steps. It should not be forgotten that the solution and peace that Mr Öcalan is trying to realise is also the struggle for the establishment of a democratic Turkey. For this reason, the freedom of Mr Abdullah Öcalan, who has put his entire existence on the line in Imrali for the historical and strategic alliance of the Turkish, Kurdish and regional peoples, must be ensured immediately and the ground for democratic negotiations must be established. We emphasise once again that Mr Öcalan's ideas and will for a solution is an opportunity for the construction of a democratic and free future. It is a historical responsibility and duty to protect this will."
