ANKARA – Italian historian Franco Cardini announced his support for Abdullah Öcalan’s call, stating, “I support the current peace process, which aims to recognize linguistic, cultural, and political rights.”

 

Cardini sent a message of support to the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party regarding the Peace and Democratic Society Process, which began following the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s call on February 27.

 

In the statement, he said: “At this critical juncture, I want to clearly and explicitly express my commitment to dialogue, democratic participation, and the protection of fundamental rights for everyone in the country. I support the current peace process, which aims to recognize linguistic, cultural, and political rights; rebuilding trust, healing the wounds of the past, and making a shared future possible can only be achieved in this way.”
