ÊLIH - The "Pêşî Peya/Pedestrian First" traffic warning signs written on the roads in Êlih have been erased.

The "Pêşî Peya/Pedestrian First" signs written by municipalities governed by the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) in order to prevent possible accidents at pedestrian crossings were erased in Êlih (Batman) after Wan (Van), Amed (Diyarbakır) and Mêrdîn (Mardin)/Keboran (Dargeçit).

Teams from the General Directorate of Highways (KGM) arrived on Diyarbakır Street accompanied by a large number of police officers at night and erased the signs.

The Kurdish traffic warning signs were first erased in Wan. After consulting with the police and the lawyer of the person who erased the signs and wrote racist writings, it was revealed that the person who erased the signs and wrote racist writings was a child.

After Wan, the Kurdish warning signs were erased in Amed by the General Directorate of Highways teams escorted by the police upon the instructions of the Amed Governor. A similar situation occurred in Kerboran.
