AMED - Ill prisoner Abdulsamet Burak, who was transferred to Adana Suluca High Security Prison, was not given food during the 3-day. It was recorded that Burak fainted on the way.
Ill prisoner Abdulsamet Burak, who was held in Van High Security Closed Prison and transferred to Adana Suluca High Security Prison No 1 against his will, was not given food during the 3-day of the transfer. Abdulvahap Burak, father of prisoner Abdulsamet Burak, applied to Amed (Diyarbakır) Association of Families of Prisoners and Detainees (Amed TUAY-DER) regarding the violation of his rights. Burak called for public sensitivity and demanded that those responsible for the torture inflicted on his son be tried and that his son be treated.
Stating that his son was wounded in a clash in 2019 and was arrested, father Burak said that his son was detained for 40 days and that he became aware of the situation at the end of this period. Stating that his son was wounded in his arm and was taken to Van Prison before his treatment was completed, Burak said, ‘They supposedly put a platinum in his arm, but I saw it with my own eyes, the platinum they put in is close to 10 centimetres and is outside. I asked why and they said, ‘This is how he will be treated. He needs to go to the hospital'. He was not taken to the hospital and treated. His arms are stiff at the joints. In that process, they took a piece from his leg. They put a platinum, but it did not heal because it did not hold, and one arm was crippled.’
CALL FOR PUBLIC SENSITIVITY
Stating that his son was transferred to Adana 20 days ago, father Burak said, ‘He collapsed on the way. For 3 days they did not give him food. A week after they took him there, they called us and told us that Abdulsamet was taken there. On 16 January I went to see him, he was very weak. They should at least treat his arms and those responsible must be prosecuted. Despite all the difficulties, we are trying to cope with them. This is a violation of human rights. I want the public to be sensitive about this. Let's find a solution to these practices. Why are they persecuting them like this?’
