RIHA - Representatives of political parties participating in the Kurdish Unity Conference stated that the conference was convened upon the call of Abdullah Öcalan and emphasised that Kurds will play an important role in perpetuating their rights in Syria.

Representatives of political parties participating in the "Rojava Kurdistan Unity and Common Attitude Conference" held in Qamishlo, North and East Syria, with the participation of 400 delegates from 3 parts of Kurdistan and Syria, evaluated the conference to Mezopotamya Agency (MA).

Xerîb Hiso, Co-Chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), wished the conference to be blessed to all Kurds living in the four parts of Kurdistan and said, "This conference has attracted everyone's attention today. This conference was a conference in the spirit of the ‘Call for Peace and Democratic Solution’. This conference will pave the way for this call. We came together with the historical call of Leader Apo. We left all our differences aside. We took this initiative to respond to this historic call. If Kurds are united, the obstacles to a solution will be removed one by one. History has shown this."

‘THE WILL OF THE KURDS WON’

Xerîb Hiso underlined that great costs were paid in North and East Syria until this conference and said, "With this struggle, we opened many blocked roads. With the collapse of the Baath regime, Syria has entered a new phase. If Kurds do not enter the reconstruction process with a strong unity in this new process, there will be a blockage the point of construction. Chaos will not end in Syria. Syria needs the poples of Syria, especially the Kurds. Previous regimes carried out policies of denial and assimilation against the Kurds. Today, a new life cannot be built in Syria without Kurdish history, culture, language and identity. Before we take our rights away from the central regime, we need to establish our unity among ourselves. We need to reach a consensus on our common national interests."

Underlining that Kurds should go to Damascus together, Xerîb Hiso added: "Damascus needs Kurds in this period. Kurds are pioneering the solution, peace and democracy. We have a paradigm. The eyes of everyone in Syria are on us. If we succeed in our unity, all peoples will succeed. Our conference was organised on two basic principles. One side of the conference was about Syria and the other about Kurdistan. Kurds will increase their unity and eliminate the artificial borders. May this be the occasion for a Kurdish National Congress to be organised with the participation of thousands of Kurds."

HISTORIC CONFERENCE

Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Co-chair Zeyneb Murad stated that they attended the conference with great happiness and said, "Preparations were made for a long time for today. It was a historical conference. This conference will have a great impact on the four parts of Kurdistan. A new era has started in Syria with this conference. This historic step is an important step in finding a solution to the differences between the Kurdish parties. The aim of the conference is to defend Kurdish law and rights everywhere. Today is the day of solution. Historical steps are being taken in Northern Kurdistan under the leadership of Mr Öcalan to solve the Kurdish question through democratic means. These historic steps and the historic call have brought us together today."

'LEADER APO'S CALL WAS EMBRACED'

PYD Presidency Council member Foza Yusif said, "This conference is blessed to all Kurdish people. This conference is the result of Leader Apo's long years of struggle. Leader Apo has fought and is fighting a great struggle for the unity of Kurds. This conference is the result of Leader Apo's call. Leader Apo sacrificed his whole life for us to live free. We need to embrace this call strongly in every aspect. This conference will play an important role for national unity and for the realisation of the Kurdish National Congress in the future. At the same time, this conference will also play an important role in perpetuationg Kurdish rights in Syira. It is important that we expand this struggle in every aspect for a lasting victory."
