Ertuğrul Kürkçü, one of the prominent figures of the 68 Generation, emphasized the importance of the İmralı meeting and said that Turkish socialists should play their role by "leading the way" and standing by the Kurdish struggle for freedom.
Politicians and citizens stated that everyone should stand against the attacks on North and East Syria and said: "We will protect Rojava together."
Stating that the isolation still continues, İshak Demiral, Co-chair of ÖHD Istanbul, said that if a process is to be carried out, it should be between equals and added: "Ensuring Abdullah Öcalan's 'right to hope' would be the first step of sincerity."
Francesca Baruffaldi, who applied to the Ministry of Justice for a meeting with Abdullah Öcalan, said: "Freeing the leader of the Kurdish people is certainly the first step that would open up a democratic path both to the Kurdish issue and beyond."
The protesters who spent the last hours of the year at the border, drew attention to the meeting held in İmralı. Peace Mother Zühriye Kayık wished for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and an honourable peace.
MED TUHAD-FED Co-Chair Kerem Canpolat, states that the İmralı meeting and the message given are important and says, "It is essential and necessary for Abdullah Öcalan to meet with all people in a comfortable way"
Journalist Baran Germiyanî stated that the government has not been formed in the Federated Kurdistan Region despite the elapsed time and said that the expectation of the people is to form a government and solve problems such as war and economic crisis in the region.
IHD Agirî Branch member lawyer Ruken Keskin, who visited 3 women prisoners who were subjected to physical torture in Patnos Prison, stated that although she visited the prisoners four days after the torture, torture marks still exist on their bodies
People from Pirsûs, who have relatives in Kobanê, which is under the threat of attack by Turkey, said: "The Kurd here and the Kurd in Kobanê are one. Our children are there, our brothers and sisters are there".
