DÊRSİM - DAD and DİK protested the appointment of trustees to Dêrsim Municipality with a march and stated that the will of the people is ignored.
Reactions against the appointment of trustees to Dêrsim (Tunceli) Municipality with the order of the Ministry of Interior continue. Members of Democratic Alevi Associations (DAD) and Democratic Islamic Congress (DİK) organised a march in the city. DAD and DİK members, Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM Party) MPs Ayten Kordu, Celal Fırat, dismissed Dêrsim Co-Mayor Cevdet Konak, Dêrsim Alliance components and citizens gathered in front of Yeraltı Bazaar before the march. The crowd marched to the municipality building under police blockade with the slogan "Thief trustee, get out of Dêrsim".
'THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IS IGNORED'
Member of DİK Hatice Şeker stated that the will of the people was once again ignored with the trustee policy. Noting that the sentences given to the co-mayors of Dêrsim Municipality are against the law. Hatice Şeker said: "Within this framework, trustees were appointed to Colêmerg, Mêrdîn, Êlih and Xelfetî, and Esenyurt, which was won on the basis of urban reconciliation, was similarly targeted by these policies. In this context where the will of the people is disregarded through anti-democratic practices, everyone is wondering which municipality will be next. Kurds elect, but cannot govern, Kurds vote, but the AKP-MHP bloc dominates their will."
DEM Party Istanbul MP Celal Fırat said that the will of the people should be respected and problems should be solved by talking.
Co-Chair of DAD Kadriye Doğan said that the will of the people of Dêrsim was blocked with barriers and added: "It is a barrier to will, humanity, peace and freedom. Yes, you may have enough power. You may be powerful now, but you are doomed in the belief and conscience of this geography. Know this, this will not go on like this."
