WAN - The City Council was re-established with the transfer of the administration to DEM Party. 

 

The City Council, which was established within the Wan (Van) Metropolitan Municipality and became dysfunctional after the appointment of trustees to the municipality, was re-established after the administration of the municipality was transferred to the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party). The City Council held its founding General Assembly. Wan Metropolitan Municipality co-mayors Neslihan Şedal and Abdullah Zeydan, DEM Party Wan Procincial Co-chair Veysi Dilekçi, district municipality co-mayors, representatives of civil society organizations and political parties attended the assemblu held at Nûda Culturel Center.  

 

Speaking at the General Assembly, Co-mayor Neslilihan Şedal stated that they will act with a democratic, ecological and women's libertarian line.

 

Co-mayor Abdullah Zeydan stated that the trustee system has caused great damage to the city and that they will solve the problems by acting together against the trustee understanding.

 

Afterwards, the 13-member administration of the City Council was elected. Sevgi Özdinç and Fikret Doğan were elected as co-chairs of the City Council.
